Nigella, for the first time, I tried my hand at this glorious sandwich loaf, and with my arthritic hands, the minimal effort required was a godsend! I didn’t kneed, and used normal full fat milk. The result? A loaf so soft, so pillowy, it felt almost indecent to slice into it. It was toasted for breakfast yesterday and it became the perfect base for tonight’s winter comfort meal, my homemade codfish finger sandwich with a luscious homeade tartar sauce. Each bite was an indulgent embrace, reminding me of when you declared the fish finger sandwich, one of your favourite comfort meals. Thank you for filling my kitchen with the intoxicating scent of fresh, warm bread!
