Preheat oven to 170°C or 300°F. Boil all first ingredients in the Hot Water for 5 mins. Let cool. Then add this to the Flour and Baking Soda. Mix together well. Put into a lined Baking form round or square.ca.8 ins. Bake 11/2 hrs. with the cake cover with Baking paper. Remove for the last 15 mins. Bon Appetit.

Good to eat with or without Butter.

- 2 cups sugar
- 2 ounces butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 pounds mixed dried fruit
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups hot water
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
