Mom's Fried Bananas

Introduction

This is really simple and my Mom could never bake but would make this for dessert for me when I was growing up. Great for breakfast with Maple Syrup or as a dessert with ice cream.

Ingredients

Serves: 1

  • 1 banana (per person)
  • 1 egg
  • flour (for dipping bananas)

Method

  • Peel the bananas or you may be faced with a slight problem ; )
  • Cut the bananas length ways so they are still long
  • Roll bananas in flour and then coat with the egg.
  • Fry gently with a combination of butter and vegetable oil
  • When browned and soft it is ready to serve
  • Additional Information

    The butter browns very quickly so it is better to mix with oil to have a higher smoke point.
