Metric Cups
  • 4 potatoes (peeled and sliced 1/4 to 1/8 inch thick)
  • 250 millilitres Parmesan cheese
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced, more depending on desired garlickiness - up to 10)
  • ¾ stick butter
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)

Method

  • Heat oven to 400.
  • Put the sliced spuds in a large bowl.
  • In a small pan, melt the butter with medium high heat. When it gets hot and slightly bubbly add the garlic. Cook for 1 minute, and 1 minute only.
  • Dump the garlic/butter over the spuds and toss. Add 3/4 cup parmesan with salt and pepper and toss with wild abandon.
  • Layer the spuds in a buttered baking dish.
  • Top with the remaining parmesan cheese Bake for 30 minutes, until golden brown on top. Caution: be prepared for heavenly odour filling the kitchen.
