Ingredients

Serves: 4

Metric Cups
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 lime (juice)
  • 4 beef escalopes
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 4 tablespoons tomato puree
  • chopped fresh parsley
  • salt
  • pepper

Method

Beef & Banana Roll-Ups is a community recipe submitted by domesticgoddess and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Lay out the beef steaks and beat with a meat hammer until flattened out.
  • squeeze over some lime juice, then spread mustard, tomato puree, and chopped parsley onto each one.
  • season with s&p. Place a banana onto one end of the steak (trimming the banana on each end, and even making it thinner if so desired) and roll up, securing with string or a toothpick.
  • Fry in margarine/oil/veg shortening until the beef is well browned all over and the banana is cooked. This works very well served with a cheese risotto.
