Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Then add all other ingredients and fold in. Cover with sliced almonds and cook in a cool oven for about an hour.

Serves: Easily cuts into 12. I often
- 8 ounces butter
- 8 ounces superfine sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond essence
- 8 ounces all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 ounces almond meal
- sliced almonds (for the top)
