Chocolate Slice

In a large bowl mix together the dry ingredients. Melt the butter in a separate bowl. Beat 1 egg again in a separate bowl. Add the butter and egg in with the dry ingredients, mix well. Press the mixture flat into a small rectangular oven tray. (You could be more creative and press into a star shape tray.) 180'c moderate oven. Bake for 10-15 min. While base is cooking make the icing. Combine confectioners' sugar and unsweetened cocoa with a bit of hot water. Then add the vanilla. Once the base is cooked leave it in the tray to cool for 5 min. Pour icing over the base and put in the fridge to go hard. Cut up the chocolate slice into squares and serve on a plate with some vanilla ice cream.

A yummy treat for all to enjoy!!! This is a recipe that has been passed down in my family.. It's a slice of chocolate Heaven.

For the Base
- ¼ cup self-rising flour
- ½ cup superfine sugar
- 3¼ cups coconut
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 4 ounces butter
- 1 egg
For the Icing
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar
- 1 dash vanilla
- 1 dash hot water
