Introduction
This is something I have tried, tested and a never fail recipe. Its something my mom handed down (basic recipe) and I personally re-invented it with my twist. Never Failed me...simple and idiot proof!

Cups
For the Cake
- 250 grams butter
- 375 millilitres soft brown sugar
- 4 medium eggs
- 250 millilitres plain flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder (sift with flour)
- ¾ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda (sift with flour)
- 125 millilitres almonds (crushed)
- 125 millilitres semolina (plain)
- 4 tablespoons cream (or milk, cold)
- vanilla essence
- 1 pinch of salt
For the Cream Icing
- 250 millilitres cream
- 150 grams icing sugar
- 2 tablespoons almond essence (or vanilla essence)
For the Cake
- 9 ounces butter
- 1½ cups soft brown sugar
- 4 medium eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder (sift with flour)
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda (sift with flour)
- ½ cup almonds (crushed)
- ½ cup semolina (plain)
- 4 tablespoons cream (or milk, cold)
- vanilla essence
- 1 pinch of salt
For the Cream Icing
- 8⅘ fluid ounces cream
- 5 ounces confectioners' sugar
- 2 tablespoons almond essence (or vanilla essence)
