this is so easy and so tasty, i have mentioned it on the forum but thought it deserved to appear here. i usually make this just for myself and i always have the ingredients in the house.

Ingredients

Serves: 1

Metric Cups
  • 1 large floury potato
  • 2 tomatoes (flavoursome)
  • ½ onion
  • 1 Cheddar cheese (grated)
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 large mealy potato

Method

Aunty Marys Potato, Cheese and Onion Bake is a community recipe submitted by justine patel and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • pre heat oven to 200 c
  • slice the potato and onion very thinly, the tomato as well but not as thin and grate the cheese. i usually cook the pot in boiling water for 5 to 10 mins first but if you don't want to do this just cook it longer in the oven.
  • staring with potato, layer this up in a small, shallow ovenproof dish alternating between ingredients, pot, onion, tom, cheese, seasoning with s and p as you go.
  • try to finish with a cheese layer.
  • put in oven for about an hour or until pot is cooked.
  • eat straight from the dish in manner of nigella!!

    • Just made the Auntie Mary's potatoe,cheese & onion bake.served it with Lamb Koftas it was tasty very my Hubby realy loved it.
