Perfect for making blueberries bluer and making this summer fruit sustain you into winter. Blueberries are soooo good for you it almost makes jam a vitamin supplement.

Perfect for making blueberries bluer and making this summer fruit sustain you into winter. Blueberries are soooo good for you it almost makes jam a vitamin supplement.

Ingredients

Serves: 6

Metric Cups
  • 375 grams blueberries
  • 200 grams caster sugar
  • 50 millilitres water
  • 13 ounces blueberries
  • 7 ounces superfine sugar
  • 1¾ fluid ounces water

Method

Inky Blue Blueberry Jam is a community recipe submitted by PurpleGirl and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Put the blueberries in a pan with 50ml water. Bring to the boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until the berries burst, soften and release their juice.
  • Add the sugar, stir until dissolved, then boil for 10 minutes.
  • Pour into 1 large or 2 small sterilised jars, leave to cool, then cover and chill.
  • Note - I did this also with half left over cranberries and half blueberries and it was amazing.
