Ingredients

Serves: 4-6

Metric Cups
  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 1 packet smokey bacon
  • 1 carrot (chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (chopped - between 1-4 cloves, up to you, I use 4!!)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 296 millilitres beef stock
  • 1 packet macaroni
  • 225 grams frozen peas
  • 1 packet white sauce (or make your own)
  • double gloucester cheese (or Cheddar cheese)
  • 18 ounces ground beef
  • 1 packet smokey bacon
  • 1 carrot (chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (chopped - between 1-4 cloves, up to you, I use 4!!)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 10⅖ fluid ounces beef broth
  • 1 packet macaroni
  • 8 ounces frozen peas
  • 1 packet white sauce (or make your own)
  • double gloucester cheese (or Cheddar cheese)

Method

Macaroni Mince Bake is a community recipe submitted by Razzy and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Fry beef until just brown.
  • Add bacon, onion, carrot, garlic, tomato puree and stock. Bring to boil and simmer gently until liquid has been absorbed.
  • Mix the meat mixture with the macaroni and peas and place in an oven proof dish.
  • Make white sauce. Add grated cheese to taste and stir until melted.
  • Pour sauce over meat/macaroni mixture and sprinkle with a little more cheese.
  • Bake at 180c/Gas 4 until browned (about 20-30 minutes). Enjoy!

    • How much macaroni? What is 1 packet of smokey bacon? Trying the receipt tonight using 250grams of macaroni and four slices of smoked bacon. I'll be back to let you know how it goes.
