Ingredients

Serves: 5-6

Metric Cups
  • 1 kilogram chicken
  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • vegetable oil
  • fresh coriander (finely chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
  • 1 jar of mango chutney
  • 1 packet frozen peas
  • 2⅕ pounds chicken
  • 2 large onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • vegetable oil
  • cilantro (finely chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons red chile powder
  • 1 jar of mango chutney
  • 1 packet frozen peas

Method

Hot Indian Curry is a community recipe submitted by Sandie down under and has not been tested by Nigella.com so we are not able to answer questions regarding this recipe.

  • Cook onions, garlic and salt until onions are soft and brown.
  • Slice chicken or meat into bite size portions and add to onions, also add chilli powder and garam masala, mix well.
  • Add BOILING water to pot about 2 pints. Reduce heat to simmer. Add peas. Add mango pickle from jar to suit taste.
  • When chicken or meat is cooked , add chopped coriander and serve.
  • Note-: the mango pickle is pretty hot so even if you add a small amount and taste you can always add more later if you want it to be hotter. Personally i add the whole lot as i like it hot
