Cauliflower Pulav

Introduction

Ingredients

Serves: 4

  • 500 grams potatoes
  • 1 large cauliflower
  • 250 millilitres green peas
  • 500 millilitres rice
  • 2½ centimetres fresh ginger
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • garam masala
  • red chilli powder (to taste)
  • salt (to taste)
  • sugar (to taste)

  • Grind onion, ginger and garlic together to make a paste. Wash rice and keep aside for 15 min. Cut the veggies into small pieces.
  • Heat oil, and first fry all the veggies lightly, take it out and leave it on a tissue paper.
  • Next lightly fry the rice as well. Add bay leaves and Garam Masala to the oil, and the onion garlic ginger paste.
  • Fry till it changes colour. Next add the rice and the veggies, salt, sugar, and red chilli powder.
  • Add water (2 cups rice: 4 cups water) and let it cook. Once done, add some ghee and Garam Masala powder for fragrance (this is optional).
