  • Add 200g of strong white flour to a mixing bowl.
  • Next add a pinch of salt and a heaped teaspoon of butter. Mix in the butter with your hands.
  • Now add the 7g sachet of yeast.
  • Make a well in the mixture of the bowl and add at least 70ml of the warm water to the well, if it looks dry then add as much warm water as it needs.
  • Use a spatula to mix all the ingredients together and then empty it all out on the work surface and kneed it for 10 minutes.
  • Now leave it to prove for 20 minutes by turning the mixing bowl over to make a dome shape.
  • Now it should have risen a bit, puncture it gently by poking some holes on the top and it will deflate. Kneed it for another 5 minutes and if you wanted to add any extra ingredients such as seeds or herbs, then whilst kneading, add them in.
  • Now you can make it into any shape you like such as a plait, pretzel or you can keep it as it is.
  • Put it into the oven and leave it for 20-30 minutes.
  • Enjoy with a dip!
