Norwegian Poached Salmon

Bring water to a boil with all ingredients except the salmon. When water boils add salmon and turn off heat. Let it stand in the water for 10 min. Serve with boiled potatoes and the melted butter. Cucumber salad with vinegar is served with this dish and some people add sour cream with chives.
Introduction
This is a staple dish in Norway. It is so buttery and soft on the palette. Easy to make and impress.

- norwegian salmon (cut in large pieces)
- white wine vinegar
- 1 bay leaf
- salt
- pepper
- butter (melted, to serve)

Additional Information
If I am making it for my kids I ask the fishmonger for the tail piece as it has less bones than the rest of the Salmon.
