250 millilitres full fat milk (I like Jersey Gold Top)
50 grams dark chocolate (finely chopped)
3 tablespoons salted caramel sauce
squirty cream to serve (optional)
1 cup whole milk (I like Jersey Gold Top)
2 ounces bittersweet chocolate (finely chopped)
3 tablespoons salted caramel sauce
squirty cream to serve (optional)
Method
To make a mugful, put the milk into a small saucepan with the finely chopped dark chocolate and the salted caramel sauce.
Cook, stirring over medium heat, until chocolate is melted and you have a rich hot liquid to pour into a waiting mug. If you want you could dollop whipped or squirty cream over the top, drizzling that with squiggles of salted caramel sauce.

This is the perfect hot chocolate after a snowshoe in the cold Canadian winter!

I've tried Nigella's Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate and I'll make it over and over again. I celebrated firework day by cooking this delight for my family. I whipped home made cream to top it off too.
