Are All Bundt Tins the Same Size?

Full question
I've recently bought a Nordic ware star shaped bundt tin and I am wondering if all Nordic ware bundt tins are the same size. If so can the Spruced Up Cake (Christmas p198) or the Maple Pecan Bundt Cake (Kitchen, p239) just as easily be baked in this tin ?
Our answer
Unfortunately there is some variation in the sizes of bundt tin and they are usually measured by volume. The good news is that most are of a similar size that can make the tins interchangable.
The Holiday Tree and the Fleur De Lys tins used by Nigella has a capacity of 2.4 litres/10 cups and this is a medium-sized tin (and one of the most common sizes). Most tins have a capacity of 2.4 to 2.9 litres/10 to 12 cups and for the Spruced Up Vanilla Cake and the Maple Pecan Bundt Cake they can be cooked in either sized tin. If you have the larger capacity tin then start checking the cake 5 minutes earlier than suggested in the recipe as it may cook slightly more quickly in a larger tin.
There are also some 1.5 litre/6 cups and 3.6 litre/15 cups capacity tins but these are far less common and we would not recommend baking the cakes in either of these. If you need to measure the capacity of the tin just fill it with water and then tip the water into a measuring jug.
