Full question
Can I freeze the Easy Sticky Toffee Pudding?
Our answer
Nigella's Easy Sticky Toffee Pudding (from NIGELLA BITES) is a self-saucing version of the classic British dessert. It is easy as the sponge batter is simply stirred together and sauce is made by sprinkling sugar on top of the sponge batter and pouring over hot water. As the pudding bakes, the sponge rises up and the sauce forms on the bottom of the dish.
We do not recommend making the pudding in advance and reheating it since, as is common for this type of sponge pudding, the sauce tends to be reabsorbed into the sponge as it stands. However, if you have leftovers then they can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or you could freeze individual portions of leftovers in airtight containers for up to one month (thaw overnight in the fridge). Leftovers can be warmed in a microwave before eating and we would suggest some Salted Caramel Sauce to go alongside.
