Chicken Stock Concentrate
Asked by RB4648. Answered on 7th October 2015
Full question
Can the Nigella team provide me with the brand of liquid concentrated chicken stock that Nigella uses? A UK source would be terrific as I cannot find this product in Oz. I also note Nigella uses celery salt in "Nigella Express" - where can I source this product too? Much thanks and warm regards, Maggie Kiley-Balas
Our answer
Nigella uses concentrated liquid stock in some recipes as it is similar to stcok cubes but in liquid form and so doesn't need to be dissolved and can be used in small quatities easily. In the UK it is easiest to find the Knorr Touch Of Taste concentrated liquid stock. This can be found in most major supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose) in the same section as the stock cubes. Note that the concentrate should be stored in the fridge once it has been opened.
Celery salt is a mixture of ground celery seed and salt. It is often used to add an extra touch of savoriness when seasoning dishes, and also in bloody mary cocktails. In the UK you can find celery salt in the spice aisle of most major supermarkets, either as an own-brand (own label) product or you can look for the Bart's or Schwartz brands.
