I'm an inexperienced cook but made some of Nigella's cakes since starting last year. My goddaughter has asked me to make a Chocolate Brownie Wedding Cake Tower or different size layers. Any ideas as I have Nigella's recipe for individual but determined to try and will practice many before cake is cut at the Ceremony. Any thoughts welcome! I have Domestic Goddess and many more books. Thank you.

Nigella's recipe for Brownies (from HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS) yields soft and squidgy brownies but unfortunately these, along with most brownie recipes, won't stack well for a tower or layered cake. The baked brownie usually sinks slightly in the centre and as they are soft and tender they tend to break up easily. However Nigella has suggested piling the cut up brownies into a tower and you could certainly do this, maybe making two or three piles of brownies, setting them on cake stands of different heights and decorating them with fresh flowers.
If you need a cake to cut as well then you could bake two pans of brownies, cut a 20cm or 23cm circle from each and try to sandwich these with frosting to make a two layer cake, though as mentioned we believe that this will be slightly difficult to stack. Alternatively, make some piles of brownies and also a very moist and fudgy chocolate cake to cut. We would suggest trying Nigella's Devil's Food Cake or Chocolate Fudge Cake.
