Hi, what size tin should I use for the Chocolate Guinness Cake? I only have one size so want to make sure I have the right tin before making this. Thanks.

Our answer

Nigella's Chocolate Guinness Cake (from FEAST) is made in a 23cm/9-inch springform cake tin. A springform tin is usually fairly deep, around 8cm/3 1/8 inches, so if you had a deep, round loose-bottomed tin with similar dimensions then that should work too.

The cake could also be baked in an 18cm/7-inch square tin, however square cakes can sometimes burn more easily on the sharp edges so if you have this tin then you should rotate the tin by a 180 degrees after the first 30 minutes of baking. The baking time should be similar to the round tin.
