Easter Menus

Asked by dinnerdonna. Answered on 27th March 2018

Full question

Although it is tradition to serve the Paschal lamb on Easter Sunday, it is meeting resistance this year from those who will be invited to join me at the Easter Sunday table. Any ideas for good non-lamb alternative centrepieces? Thank you.

Our answer

Nigella has lots of ideas and suggestions for Easter entertaining in her Easter Feasting 2018. Lamb is often served at Easter but there are other alternatives. Ham is a good choice and is easy to cook for larger numbers. Nigella's Ham In Coca Cola is a very popular choice and Ginger-Glazed Ham is a zesty alternative. The Slow-Cooked Black Treacle Ham is a dish that will cook gently in the oven, giving you time to prepare other dishes.

Turkey has also become popular outside of the Christmas period and Nigella's [Turkey Breast Stuffed With Italian Sausage] (https://www.nigella.com/recipes/turkey-breast-stuffed-with-italian-sausage-and-marsala-steeped-cranberries) is impressive without cooking and serving a whole turkey. Roast Rib Of Beef is also a celebratory centrepiece for any occasion.
