Halving Spanish Chicken With Chorizo and Potatoes

Full question
I was looking at the Spanish Chicken recipe, it calls for 12 chicken thighs to serve 6. Can the recipe easily be halved exactly, and if so does it mean less cooking time? Thanks.
Our answer
Nigella's Spanish Chicken With Chorizo And Potatoes (from Kitchen and on the Nigella website) is a traybake recipe where the chicken, chorizo an potatoes are cooked together. The oils from the chicken and sausage help to roast and flavour the potatoes.
2 chicken thighs per person is usually a good amount to allow for. If the thighs are particularly large then you could allow one per person, though any leftover chicken can be stored in the fridge for 2 to 3 days and used in soups and salads. You can halve the quantities very easily to serve 3 people. However make sure that the smaller quantities are not too spread out on the baking sheet as the potatoes may dry out before the chicken has cooked. For smaller quantities the cooking time is roughly the same as the chicken thighs will need to cook through thoroughly. However it is always wise to start checking slightly earlier and we would suggest you start checking the traybake about 10 minutes bsfore the end of the stated cooking time.
