Our answer

Nigella's Holiday Hot Cake With Eggnog Cream (from NIGELLA EXPRESS) is a self-saucing pudding cake which, when baked, produces a spiced sponge on top of a thick caramel sauce. The advocaat is used to make an eggnog-inspired whipped cream to serve with the dessert.

It is possible to use an alternative alcohol for the cream and brandy is a good alternative, though you could use whisky or rum if you prefer. These are higher in alcohol content so you may want to reduce the amount used (start with 4-5 tablespoons) and you should also sweeten the cream by whisking in 1-2 tablespoons of icing (confectioner's) sugar at the same time.
