Nigella's Chocolate Tahini Banana Bread is a gluten-free bread that can be enjoyed by everyone. The loaf is baked in a tin that has the dimensions 21 x 10 x 6cm (8.5 x 4 x 2.5 inches). These are the approximate dimensions of a 450g (1-pound) loaf tin. However we have found that the description and dimensions of loaf tins varies quite considerably, hence the dimensions of the tin are given in the recipe and we find this is the best basis to go on.

We would suggest that you check the dimensions of your tin first as if you have a 900g (2-pound) loaf tin the dimensions may not be much larger than the tin used in the recipe, in which case we would suggest using just the single amount of the recipe and start checking the loaf after 40 minutes of baking. The largest loaf tins that we have found have a length of between 27 and 30cm (between 11 and 12 inches) and width of 10 to 12cm (4 to 5 inches). These dimensions would suggest that you would only need to use 1.5 times the amount of the recipe (rather than double). On this basis we would estimate the baking time to be 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes and we would suggest that you start checking the loaf after 1 hour. Also banana breads can scorch easily, so you may need to tent the top of the loaf with foil if it is colouring too much. We would also mention that as we have not tried a larger form of the banana bread, we are unable to guarantee the results.
