Last Minute Chocolate Brownies
Asked by Terrilynn. Answered on 24th April 2013
Full question
I watched Nigella make some brownies for her daughter on TV and she used supermarket chocolate bars which she chopped up to add to the mixture. Where can I find this recipe? Many thanks Terrilynn
Our answer
We suspect that the recipe you are referring to is Nigella's Everyday Chocolate Brownies which appears in Nigella's book Kitchen. The brownies are a great storecupboard standby as they are made with cocoa powder rather than melted chocolate and Nigella studs the brownies with nuggets of milk chocolate from a standard bar that you can get in any supermarket or convenience store.
The recipe can be found in the Kitchen book and if you live in the US then it is also available on the Food Network's website. As an alternative with an interesting twist you may like to try Nigella's Bacon Brownies - the recipe can be found on Nigella's website.
