Nigella doesn't specify which mustard seeds are best for the Raw Beetroot, DIll And Mustard Seed Salad. Yellow or black? There’s a great difference between both, in taste and strength.

Nigella's Raw Beetroot, Dill And Mustard Seed Salad (from NIGELLA SUMMER) has Scandinavian inspired flavours of mustard and dill. It is slightly difficult to see from the photograph, but Nigella prefers to use black mustard seeds for the salad as she likes the stronger heat and pungency of the black seeds.
However, it is possible to use yellow mustard seeds if you prefer a milder heat with a little less astringency. The type of mustard seed is not specified so that you can adapt according to your own, personal taste.
