Nigella's recipe for Salted Chocolate Tart (from SIMPLY NIGELLA) has a chocolate cookie crumb tart shell filled with a rich and slightly smoky chocolate custard. The shell uses Oreo cookies and you can use either regular cookies or the chocolate creme version.
The cookies are used with the creamy filling as this helps to bind the cookie crumbs together, so just break the whole cookies into pieces and drop them into the food processor. There is also some added butter, which helps the tart crust to set in the fridge. The crumb mixture should feel like damp sand, but not excessively wet. You can also use the equivalent weight of any similar dark chocolate sandwich cookies.
