Our answer

Nigella's Molten Chocolate Babycakes (from HOW TO BE A DOMESTIC GODDESS) are small chocolate cakes with a soft, melting centre. The cakes are baked in 6 small, individual metal pudding moulds, each with an approximate capacity of 175ml. It may be possible to make more puddings (8-9) if you use smaller dariole moulds with an approximate capacity of 115ml. But the baking time is crucial to the texture of the pudding and dariole moulds would take less time to bake. As we have not tried the puddings in smaller form we are unable to give exact timings and can only guess at a baking time of 7-8 minutes, but unfortunately we are unable to guarantee this will give the perfect texture.

It would be possible to make a double quantity of the batter and fill 8 moulds 2/3 full of batter, then the rest can be put into ramekins and refrigerated for 1-2 days to be baked and eaten on another day. You may also like to consider Nigella's Glitzy Chocolate Puddings, which are baked and served in individual ramekins. They are chocolate sponge puddings topped with a warm chocolate glaze and the recipe serves 8.
