Raisins In Chocolate Chip Cookies

Asked by Carloo. Answered on 1st August 2016

Full question

Can you add raisins to the Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from Kitchen? If so, what quantity would you recommend?

Our answer

Nigella's Chocolate Chip Cookies (from KITCHEN) have a generous amount of chocolate chips added to the batter. These are mix-ins so can be varied without affecting the recipe too much. As the amount is already fairly generous you may find that adding extra makes the cookies a little overloaded.

We would suggest splitting the total weight of the chocolate chips between raisins and chocolate chips. So you would use 160g (approximately 2/3 cup) of chocolate chips and 160g (approximtely 1 cup) of raisins. If you feel that you would like more of each then you can increase the quantities a little. If you would like to use just raisins then use 325g (2 cups) of raisins.
