Sauce On Top Of Honey Cake

Nigella's Honey Cake (from FEAST) is a moist, spiced cake that is often served at Rosh Hashanah, but is equally good at any time of the year. Nigella likes to serve the cake drizzled with a butterscotch sauce and the recipe for the sauce has now been addded to the on-line Honey Cake recipe.

An alternative to the butterscotch sauce would be Nigella's Salted Caramel Sauce, which is good also with ice cream, chocolate sponge puddings and Christmas pudding. Both sauces can be made in advance as they will keep for between 7 and 10 days in an airtight container in the fridge. Warm gently in a small saucepan or in the microwave before serving.
