What Pan Can I Use For Emergency Brownies?

Asked by FromSGR13. Answered on 2nd July 2020

Full question

I so want to make the Emergency Brownies, however I’ve searched Amazon looking for takeaway style foil containers but so far it’s impossible to find the correct size. When we do have a takeaway the container is now plastic! Help, what can I use please?

Our answer

Nigella's Emergency Brownies recipe (from AT MY TABLE) makes a small brownie sheet that is enough for 2-4 people. It is baked in a small foil pan with the approximate dimensions of 18 x 11 x 5cm, but you can use a pan with similar dimensions, it doesn't need to be exact. If the pan is slightly larger then just start to check the brownies earlier while they are baking.

We have found similar size pans in some supermarkets, usually when they are selling barbecue accessories and disposable wares. Otherwise the best type of standard size foil pan to look for is the "6A" size, which has approximate dimensions of 19.7 x 10.5 x 4.9cm. These are widely available on-line.
