Slow Cookers

Full question
Hello, I purchased Simply Nigella and would love to try some of the slow cooker recipes. I can't find reference to what size slow cooker Nigella uses. I don't want it to be too big. I'm only cooking for 2 usually, but would like to freeze larger portions and occasionally cook for company, yet 6.5L seems far too big. Advice please! Best regards, Louise.
Our answer
Nigella has been using the Netherton Foundry cast iron slow cooker for the recipes in Simply Nigella, though the recipes are suitable for, and can be made in, other slow cookers. The capacity of the bowl is around 4 litres (4 quarts) so it is a medium-sized cooker rather than a very large one and there are smaller models available of around this size from other producers. Like many slow cooker models, the bowl can be used in the oven as well as on the slow cooker base.
At time of writing, Netherton have currently sold out of their slow cooker model but will be taking new orders very soon. For details of the slow cooker, and information on other suppliers used for ingredients in Simply Nigella, plase see the Nigella website:
