Our answer

Nigella's Devilled Eggs (from AT MY TABLE) have a filling made with a mixture of cooked egg yolks, mayonnaise and olive oil that is spiced with English mustard, paprika and tabasco. The mustard and tabasco add piquancy and a slightly fiery kick to the creamy filling.

Tabasco is a hot pepper sauce and if you don't have tabasco then you could use another hot or chilli sauce, such as sriracha or a Mexican chilli sauce. As the heat levels vary we suggest adding a couple of drops first, then tasting and adding more to suit your palate. You could also use a pinch or two of hot chilli powder as an alternative and again add a small amount first then taste before adding extra, if needed. If you don't like the heat of chillies then you could omit the tabasco completely and add an extra pinch of paprika instead.
