Our answer

Nigella's Slow-Cooker Lamb And Pasta has a rich sauce made with minced (ground) lamb and canned chopped (diced) tomatoes. In the UK the standard size for cans of tomatoes is 400g, which is equivalent to 14-ounce cans in the US or approximately two cups of canned and diced tomatoes (including the juice).

The recipe asks for 3 cans of this size, but if you have to use larger cans then you will need 6 cups of the tomatoes. You can transfer any leftover tomatoes to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
