Why do you need to separate into 1 pint tubs to freeze the No-Churn Salted Caramel Bourbon Ice Cream? Why not just one 2 pint container?

Our answer

NIgella's No-Churn Salted Caramel Bourbon Ice Cream is made with a combination of Carnation caramel or dulce de leche, double (heavy/whipping) cream, salt and bourbon, which are simply whisked together and frozen. Nigella freezes the ice cream in two 500ml/1-pint tubs as that is what she generally has at home. It helps the ice cream to freeze more quickly and also for some people it is easier to find space in the freezer for two smaller containers, rather than one large one.

You can, of course, use a larger container but we would mention that the ice cream softens fairly quickly once out of the freezer. So make sure that you return any left over ice cream to the freezer immediately, as if the ice cream thaws and re-freezes then it affects the texture.
