Weighing Condensed Milk

Asked by No Rust. Answered on 22nd November 2012

Full question

How do I weigh out 175g/6oz condensed milk for Nigella's One-Step No Churn Coffee Ice Cream (from Nigellissima)? I have just made a batch and guessed at the amount from the 397g tin. Thank you.

Our answer

There are a few ways to measure the condensed milk for the No Churn Coffee Ice Cream. If you have electronic scales where you can add ingredients and weigh them then just add it to the bowl you are making the ice cream in. Alternatively weigh the opened but full can and then scoop out the milk into the bowl until the weight of the can has been reduced by the 175g.

If you prefer to measure by volume then the 175g equates to 150mls. Alternatively the measure is half of the can plus 1 x 15ml tablespoon.
