Hello! I’m planning a party and I thought it would be such a cool idea to torch the crème brûlée when my guests arrive. However, struggling to form coherent thoughts about what to serve it with. Preferably something neat that can be picked up, a nice contrast, maybe something that’s appropriate for the season?
Our answer
Nigella's Creme Brulee (from NIGELLA BITES) is a wonderful combination of cool, smooth and creamy vanilla-scented custard contrasting with a crisp crust of caramelized sugar. We don't particularly think that it needs anything to accopany it as it is so luscious on its own.
If you really want to serve something alongside then a few fresh berries, such as raspberries, would probably be our only suggestion. The sweet-sharp and juicy berries will be a foil for the smooth richness of the creme brulee.
