I admit the prospect of a pumpkin-flavoured dessert filled me with a great deal of skepticism and childlike "I don't like it" prejudice. But curiosity prevailed and after conducting a month-long online search for someone who would import a single can of pumpkin puree for less than $56(!) I persisted. And thank the culinary Gods I did! The result was revolutionary and my taste buds are eternally grateful for this strange but magical Nigella creation. It just goes to show that when it comes to food it always pays to JUST TRY IT!!

Congratulations - very well deserved win!
Thanks for the tip about baby version, I'll definitely taking advantage in the future. Where were you a month ago before I almost killed myself googling!? I did vaguely consider making my own but as I'm sure you know cheesecake textures are temperamental at the best of times so didn't want to give myself a heart attack worrying if I'd made it too thick or too runny. Argh, the perils of cooking huh?! :)
Just so you know for future reference, those jars of pumpkin puree for babies also work wonderfully - that is what I used the first time I made this delish cake. You can also make your own - just cut up and steam (v. important) some chunks of pumpkin, taking care to drain very well, though it should stay firm if steamed.
That looks so smooth. Well done :)
