Made a double batch of this cake, one as a thank you for our lovely neighbours and another one to devour ourselves. It turned out great! Personally I'd have liked even more whole apricots on top. I used Bulgarian rose jelly to decorate, a culinary souvenir I purchased when making a pilgrimage with donkey, violin and dutch 'poffertjespan'. We cooked these tiny Dutch pancakes for the locals in return for a taste of their gastronomic heritage. It was a great journey and finishing this cake with the last jar of rose jelly brought back some lovely memories!
