June is the my sister's birthday month and I was looking for a special cake recipe to try. When I saw the recipe of this month in the Cookalong, I thought that I found the perfect cake for celebrate this special date. My version of the "Nigella’s Strawberry Meringue Layer Cake" gained a curious and unique shape, a crown. When I ate the first piece of it, I realized that it is a really majestic cake and that the crown shape was perfect. I live in Brazil, so I changed the flaked almonds for a sprinkling of slivers of Brazil nuts and this way I added a special Brazilian twist to this cake!
