We're polenta free in the wilds of Cumbria, so ground almonds did the trick....no shortening in the kitchen cupboards, so coconut oil was used instead... thankfully, the big fat juicy blackberries were plentiful. Every intention of making the galette for my husband to enjoy, but I couldn't resist the tempting aroma of this lovely autumnal pudding. Needless to say the blackberry galette was devoured by us both, and we enjoyed every last mouthful, with more creme fraiche being scooped onto the dish part way through... definitely a pudding to be made again...and again.
