I'd made some changes, because where I live some ingredientes aren't available. So, instead "soft light brown sugar" and "golden syrup", I put muscovado sugar and corn syrup, respectively. The syrup isn't the light or dark, it's more golden. And just a little booze: whisky. Turned out very nutty, caramel-toffee and malt notes, and just booze enough.
