The ginger in this cake and in the cream cheese icing seemed like a lot, but it really added just the perfect amount of sophisticated spice and flavor to this cake. I added a dash of cinnamon to my batter just to add even more spicy warmth. It was truly fantastic! Even my picky eaters gobbled it up!
