I had been meaning to make this cake for ages and had actually bought three lots of pears which had gone bad because I hadn't had time. Then I got an email about the competition but I was away and so again couldn't make it. Then I had another email saying that the competition was still running and so finally got round to making it. It is delicious but very different to what I was expecting. It is so moist that it's more like a pudding (at least mine is!). This will definitely become a favourite.
