I had thought I would take the photo in the garden but the cake looked so great glistening in the sun, still in its tin on the kitchen bench that I couldn’t resist. Hardly glamorous, but still gorgeous. I popped an uncracked cardamom pod in the apricot jam when I warmed it for the tiniest hint of additional aroma. Looks fantastic and I can’t wait to try it at a birthday party later.
