Oh Nigella, you had me at Bird’s Custard Powder, a staple in every Newfoundland kitchen! I’ve only ever had Custard Creams from a package but decided to give them a try and participate in the February Cookalong. They did NOT disappoint! Certainly special enough to break out my grandmother’s pink Depression Ware that she bought back in what she always referred to as the “dirty thirties”.
