Easter in Belgium this year is a sunny, warm spring day and although we are not allowed this year to enjoy it as a family gathering (corona... *sigh*) I took the opportunity to bake this georgeous cake twice. One will be served in my garden and savoured by my house companions. I am sure, it will not make it to Easter Monday… The other one will be divided in two and each part will be delivered at the doorstep of our (grand-)parents as an Easter Egg to enjoy. We may not be able to enjoy their company but we can show our affection this way, and deliver a sprinkle of happiness in the shape of this delightful dessert. Thanks, Nigella, each recipe of yours breathes warmth, kindness and love, they are always heartwarming! I wish you and everyone a very happy Easter and all the best in these times of sometimes making difficult decisions.
