We made the red velvet cake recipe (very similar) for effect with the gloriously black icing. Wow, the photo doesn't do it justice! The cake was so moist. The icing was easier than I thought it would be and yummy too! We couldn't find any kind of ghoulish sweets anywhere so made marshmallow ghosts instead. I really enjoyed baking this with my 12 year old, thanks Nigella!
