I created this cake for my dad's 70th Birthday. This 2023 was a year of learning new card & board games such as Sequence, Poker, Uno Flip etc. and it was so much fun playing and leaning these games. My dad enjoyed the most from all of us. I wanted to create a cake that incorporated a couple of the games and I felt your devil's food cake was the best choice for this big birthday celebration, as he deserved the best. I added rum soaked cherries and some rum for an extra kick, and it came out delicious, as it's dad's favourite flavour! The crowd absolutely loved the cake. Apart from his birthday I've made this recipe several times. It's now my go-to rick dark chocolate cake. So simple yet so so decadent. I love all your recipes and have tried so many of them too. They've always been crowd pleasers. ❤️
